Based in Los Angeles, first-call studio guitarist Tim Pierce has amassed one of the most extensive and impressive discographies we've seen. Tim grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and during the 1960s fell in love with the music on the radio. After hearing Jimi Hendrix, he, like so many others, poured himself into the electric guitar. Beginning at age 12, he studied for two years with Steve Masse, whom he credits as an amazing teacher. He constantly played in bands as a teenager. At age 20 Tim moved to L.A. and ventured into studio work, backing "Runaway"-era Bon Jovi, John Waite, and Rick Springfield, with whom he toured the world for four years. In the late '80s he decided not to tour again and to focus exclusively on the studio. After meeting Patrick Leonard in 1990 and recording with the band Toy Matinee, Tim became one of the busiest players in town. These days, he's more sought-after than ever, playing sessions every day.
