The "C" in JRC Media, the magazine's parent company, Christian Magee co-founded Pure Guitar in September 2012. As Executive Director of Finance and Business Operations, he oversees many of the roles traditionally held by magazine publishers, such as supervising the ad sales department, overseeing contracts and legal affairs, handling travel arrangements, paying staffers and freelancers, and ensuring that we continually produce the best magazine possible.

Most electric guitar enthusiasts are already familiar with Christian's company, TubeDepot.com, which for years has provided a vast array of replacement tubes and parts for amplifiers and other devices. But few realize just how far back his love of tubes goes: "At the age of six, I had a collection of vacuum tubes from the old TVs in our house. I always looked forward to the day the repairman would come, because I would usually get a new tube for my collection." Christian played drums in grade school and high school, and developed a lifelong passion for music ranging from big bands to Phish. As soon as he graduated from the University of Alabama, he launched Electron Valve, which evolved into TubeDepot.com. Today the Memphis-based company has several full-time employees.
